Informational Tier An informational alert indicates that a metric has shifted but remains within the established tolerance band. The alert is logged and reviewed at the next scheduled PMM review meeting. No immediate action is required. Informational alerts provide trend visibility: a metric that generates frequent informational alerts is approaching its warning threshold and warrants proactive attention. The PMM review meeting examines the informational alert log for patterns that suggest emerging issues before they breach warning thresholds. Informational alerts should not be routed through the real-time alerting service (PagerDuty/Opsgenie) to avoid contributing to alert fatigue. They are collected in the monitoring dashboard and reviewed in batch at the governance meeting. Key outputs
- Logged and reviewed at next scheduled PMM meeting
- No immediate action required
- Trend visibility for proactive attention
- Dashboard collection, not real-time alerting service
