Systems that were not developed under version control can be brought into the framework from the current point forward. The Technical SME captures the current state of all artefacts (code, models, data, configuration) as a baseline version. From this baseline, all subsequent changes are fully version-controlled with attribution, timestamping, and complete diff history.

The AISDP documents the date from which formal version control was established and acknowledges that the version history prior to that date is incomplete. This acknowledgement is essential: a version history that purports to cover the system’s entire development but was actually created retroactively is misleading evidence.

For model artefacts, the baseline capture includes the model’s current parameters, the training configuration, and the evaluation metrics at the point of capture. For data artefacts, the baseline includes the current dataset versions, their statistical profiles, and their storage locations.

Key outputs

  • Baseline version capture of all current artefacts
  • Version control established from baseline date forward
  • Explicit acknowledgement of incomplete pre-baseline history
  • Module 2 AISDP documentation
