The Assessment Plan is prepared before the assessment begins and approved by the AI Governance Lead. It defines the scope (system, version, AISDP modules), the assessment methodology, the assessor team composition and qualifications, the assessment schedule, and the acceptance criteria. The plan is the governing document for the assessment; deviations from the plan are documented with justification.

The plan also records the pre-assessment readiness review findings and the go/no-go recommendation. Where the readiness review identified gaps, the plan notes whether those gaps were resolved before the assessment commenced.
