The Human Oversight Interface Specification is the design document for the Layer 6 interface through which operators review, accept, override, or reject the system’s outputs. It consolidates the requirements into a single artefact that guides interface development and serves as compliance evidence.
The specification should include wireframes or screenshots annotated to show the information presented, the actions available, and the workflow enforced. It must document the mandatory review workflow and the technical mechanisms preventing bypass, the four automation bias countermeasures and their configuration, the override capability and rationale capture design, and the monitoring instrumentation for override rates and review times.
Human interface specifications should also document the sequence of interactions for critical patterns (case presentation, data-first display, recommendation reveal, operator decision, rationale capture) through sequence diagrams. These diagrams demonstrate to an assessor exactly what information is presented to the operator, in what order, and what happens when the operator accepts, modifies, or rejects the recommendation.
Key outputs
- Annotated wireframes or screenshots of the oversight interface
- Sequence diagrams for critical interaction patterns
- Configuration parameters for all countermeasures
- Module 7 AISDP evidence
